“P” Family ~ A Colorado Session {Dallas Fort Worth Child & Family Photographer}

I don’t even know where to begin with this adorable family.  They hold a very special place in my and my husband’s heart.  John and Rod served our country together in the Army and over the years, the miles may have kept us from seeing each other, but they are the kind of true friends we know we’ll have for a lifetime.  I recently had the chance to fly to Colorado where they and my best friend live (her session is coming!) and photographed both families in the bitter cold.  I was beyond sick with a sinus infection and altitude sickness but had an AMAZING time photographing Rod, Cari and their gorgeous girls Bethany and Erin. To my surprise, this was the first family session they’ve had done in years.  I only hope I was able to convey what beautiful people they are inside and out, as well as the love they have for each other.  I was also thrilled to also capture their sweet Bo who was quite the poser in front of the camera.

“P” family – you are so dear to us and it was an honor to photograph you!  I can’t wait for you to see the whole gallery but enjoy these faves for now.:)

NAPCP Award Winner! {Dallas Fort Worth Award Winning Children’s Photographer}

Yesterday I received the sweetest email from a Canadian photographer congratulating on my win in the International NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers) image competition.  I had submitted a few images in various categories back in December and had no idea what place I got or what image won— nor did I EVER expect to win, much less place in such a huge competition!! Needless to say, my jaw dropped and I headed straight to the NAPCP website to find out what I won!! Then I did a happy dance, cried, thanked God, and called my parents, husband and my client (who happened to already have ordered a huge canvas of this!)  I am beyond honored, blessed, surprised and elated to have won first place in the High School Senior category!  You can view the  first place winners in other categories here.

Thank you NAPCP for this huge honor and milestone in my career.  You’ve made my year!:)

Havily is 1! {Dallas Fort Worth Baby and Child Photographer}

I can’t believe a year (or a little over) has passed since I photographed my sweet friend and client Tracy’s baby girl, Havily.  This family has been such a blessing to me and my business and I can’t thank you enough, Tracy, for your continued support of and collaboration with me documenting your beautiful family!  Little Lincoln and Havily have one amazingly creative and talented momma and I can’t wait for our next shoot together!

The birthday girl…

Tracy made her adorable outfit…Big brother Lincoln…

These last images have super special meaning to Tracy and her husband and are one of the main reasons for our photo shoot.  Such a special family!
