This photo shoot is so special and one of two sessions I did while visiting Kansas City recently. I lived there for two years almost 10 years ago and, unfortunately, haven’t returned since. I love that city so much. And miss it dearly. It’s where I met my husband and lost a dear friend/mentor to cancer. It’s where I grew in my career and made friendships that will hold a special place in my heart always. It’s where I completely left the comforts of family and “home” and ventured out on my own as a young girl in my twenties. Going back was very bittersweet. Kirsten was a coworker and friend of mine that I’ve always felt a special connection with and since I’ve left, she’s had two more beautiful children and hasn’t aged a day. Kirsten, thank you so much for this opportunity and for following/supporting my career as I left the advertising world to pursue my dream. What a gorgeous family you have and I’m blessed to know you.

I adore these mother/son captures – and that beautiful red hair!!

She kept me on my toes:

Little “R” brought her princess dress and completely transformed into one. So precious.

Kirsten’s oldest girls – simply gorgeous.
