Last year I was lucky enough to become a charter member of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP). It’s so important as a business owner and professional photographer to get plugged into your community. I’ve learned so much and met so many wonderful artists through the professional organizations I’ve joined. NAPCP held its first working/learning retreat this June in Napa Valley – the perfect backdrop for friends, fun and photos! I flew into San Francisco a couple days early to spend some time with my dear friend Jane of Jane Johnson Photography and Branding Design – the designer of my new fabulous branding! We had fun taking in the city, shopping and just catching up. On our way to Napa, we wanted to take in the ocean so we stopped in Half Moon Bay for lunch and a quick walk on the beach. Then, on to Napa for three days of encouragement, support and learning among some of the top children photographer’s in the nation.
I’m so thankful to Alice Park and her husband, Kyu, for starting this organization of inspiring, encouraging photographers. I look forward to our next retreat and many more great opportunities and friendships!
