This shoot is extra special to me for many reasons.  Jeremy and I were friends in kindergarten all the way through 8th grade (when he’d walk me home to make sure I got there safely.) Then I moved away, never to speak to him again.  I guess that happens in life and in the world of no cell phones and email, it  just wasn’t possible to keep in touch.  Enter Facebook.  We all have our tales of being reunited with long lost friends or family members.  When I got the friend request from Jeremy, I couldn’t believe it.  Truth be told, I had actually looked for him before but to no avail.  He told me he wanted meet with me about photographing his family – especially since his wife had just beaten brain cancer after being diagnosed right after having their son.  What a miraculous gift Braxton was and what a fighter Jenn is.   Of course I was excited but what was even more exciting is that I had just been asked to contribute to a coffee table book featuring people affected by cancer.  I jumped on board with this project because like a lot of people, I’ve lost someone really close to me to cancer and also, this book is to be a positive compilation of survival, inspiration and courage.  Jenn had to be featured.  I made a call and we made it happen.  I won’t go into their whole story because I want you read it when the book comes out.
