Barbara & Jedidiah are Engaged!

I’ve known Jedidiah (or Jedi as I call him) for a couple years now.  I first met him when I did some fashion photos for a local boutique and he was one of the models.  I absolutely enjoyed getting to know and working with him. I know, ladies – he’s super cute…but behind those good looks is a soulful, shy, sweet and spiritual guy.  I was beyond thrilled when he and his gorgeous fiance Barbara approached me to take their engagement photos.  They met on a modeling gig and have been inseparable since.  Barbara is the kind of gal I feel like I’ve known forever.  We have so much in common, including our love of vintage and Anthropologie.  I love keeping up with her cute wedding blog as she counts down the days to her nuptials.  Check out this super sweet post she wrote about our time together.

I love Barbara’s carefree spirit and how she wanted to use some fun props. We shot in several locations which included a stop for Italian gelato – one of their favorite things.  When I found out Jedi had a motorcycle that he adores, I wanted to do something with that too.  Barbara and Jedi, I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity (and for introducing me to Paciugo.)  Having switched from wedding photography to kids, I can truly say that you two make me want to reconsider!  Almost..  ;)   Can’t wait for your beautiful wedding day and hopefully getting to know you two even more!  You are a beautiful couple inside and out that I’m so blessed to know!

Here are my faves – there are way too many but seriously, look at them! I just wanted to photograph them all day!  Also, a special surprise for them….a slideshow to give you warm fuzzies.  Which is exactly what looking at them does for me.  Enjoy! :)

I used some off camera flash for these shots – not my typical “style” but I love the effect and how “glossy/sexy” these are!And again, the full slide show can be viewed here.

Teasers – Barbara and Jedidiah are Engaged!

I don’t even know where to start – this couple is beyond gorgeous inside and out.  This engagement session makes me want to come out of “wedding photography retirement”.  For real.   I’m saving all the details for their full blog post next week but in the mean-time, enjoy the eye candy that is Jedi and Barbara.  Love you two!  Can’t wait for your wedding in Oct.  I’ll be the crazy guest with a camera. ;-)

Massey Family – A Michigan Session {Dallas Fort Worth Family and Child Photographer}

Anna is one of my fabulous girlfriends from Michigan that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing twice before.  She contacted me a couple months ago and wanted me to take her daughter’s one year pics.  That one email launched into an entire weekend of fun photo shoots!  Nothing means more to me than to have a client want to hire me again (except maybe their referral)! :)   It’s been so much fun traveling back to Michigan the last three years to document my old clients and meet new ones. This was the last (but certainly not least) session of my trip.  Little Kate broke out in hives the night before our shoot and we decided to press on – after all, her photographer came all the way from Dallas.  :)   Actually, I wouldn’t have pushed it but she was in great spirits and didn’t seem to be in pain or itching too bad.  I’m so glad we had the session!  Nothing a little Photoshop can’t handle.  Anna and Vince – I love you guys.  Thanks again for your trust and support.  Here are a few of my faves from our time together…

The image on the right just won “Image of the Week” by the National Association of Professional Child Photographers!

I love her strawberry blonde hair!

This reminds me of the sailor dresses my mom used to dress me in – so cute!

Hoban Family – A Michigan Session {Dallas Fort Worth Family and Child Photographer}

This shoot has been a long time coming!  Christy and I met through the Junior League when I lived in Ann Arbor.  Sadly, it wasn’t until after I moved away that we really became friends (long distance).  I officially started my business when I moved here three years ago and Christy has been a devoted follower of my blog and constant cheerleader for my career.  She is simply one of those people I call “a light”.  Her kind heart and sweet spirit make her someone I strive to be more like.  The last couple years that I’ve gone to Michigan for my annual shoots, she has been out of town or unable to schedule.  This year we finally made it happen and I’m so glad.  Her family is just as I thought they would be – happy, loving, adorable and close-knit.  You can also catch a few pics of them over on the NAPCP blog in the article I wrote re: what to wear for your photo shoot.  Christy’s kids wore the cutest J Crew CrewCuts outfits!

Christy, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reaching out over the past few years.  You have no idea how much your words of encouragement and inspiration have lifted me up.  You are a light.  And I’m so honored to have photographed your beautiful family.  I had a hard time narrowing down faves.  Enjoy…

Sarah has the most beautiful eyes and sweet spirit like her mommy:

Handsome Gabe – such a sweet kid!

Little Matthew melted my heart – he had a cast on his arm but Christy said it’s pretty representative of him-an active little guy.  So precious!

Baron Family – A Michigan Session {Dallas Fort Worth Child and Family Photographer}

Betsy is a loyal client and friend from my Michigan days that I’ve so enjoyed working with (and playing with) over the years.  She first hired me to photograph her twin boy and girl’s Christening, then their one-year birthday party and various portrait sessions after, including her oldest son Nick’s senior photos.  I’ve so enjoyed spending time with and documenting this beautiful family.  I feel like I’m part of it every time I’m around them!  Bets, thanks for your friendship and support – I’m so blessed to call you friend and appreciate you believing in me from the beginning.  Here are a few faves from our most recent session!  XO!

I can’t get enough of the twins – seriously, how CUTE are they?!

Ok, so Luke might have a been a little sweaty at this point but I didn’t care – he’s all boy and I love these images.  That devilish grin kills me!

I love the way Jon and Betsy are looking at each other!

The Baron Boys:

Amanda is such a girly girl – I wanted to take her home to Texas!So handsome! Oldest brother Nick recently had senior pics taken last year so we needed a few of Eric:

Swoon – I can only imagine the trouble they’ll be getting into over the next few years.  What a blessing to be a twin!
