Gigi {Dallas Fort Worth Newborn Photography}

I met Leigh and Kelly last year when I photographed their beautiful and intimate wedding (featured on Southern Weddings!)  When I got the call that she was expecting and wanted me to do her maternity portraits and newborn photos, I couldn’t have been happier.  Other photographers will agree, we don’t just take pictures, we are allowed into people’s private moments, to share and document some of the most special times in their lives.  It is such an honor.  And even more so when you’re invited back to follow in their journey.

Baby Ginger Grace, or Gigi, arrived on her mother’s birthday and here are some faves from our time together.  I love capturing images in people’s homes, showing their environment.  Gigi has a beautiful vintage-inspired nursery and you know how much I’m sucker for vintage/antiques!  Leigh and Kelly, thank you for choosing me again.  I so appreciate your loyalty and friendship!  Gigi is simply….beautiful!

I wanted to do something vintagey – knowing Leigh appreciates that.  And I was dying to use this flower hat!

Oh so sweet details…

Gigi’s beautiful nursery…

Leigh was super creative with this antique piece she found, making into a dresser/changing table!  And love the letters on the wall above crib!

The guest bed holds a beautiful quilt Gigi’s grandmother made her.  I wanted to capture her on it…

On the outside of the Gigi’s door are the sweetest homemade pieces of art you ever did see.  Her big brothers made these cards.  And completely melted my heart! The last image is Leigh’s framed birth announcement which sits on the antique dresser.  I love that she and her daughter share a birthday and that Leigh’s mom saved this!

Tiffany is Expecting! {Dallas Fort Worth Maternity Photographer}

You’ve seen my gorgeous friend Tiffany on my blog several times – Such a blessing having loyal clients!  I photographed her wedding, bridals, family portraits and now her maternity session.  Tiffany is so beautiful inside and out and I’ve so enjoyed being reconnected from our college days.  I cannot wait to get my camera on her new baby, Landon next week!

Thanks again, Tiffany, for the opportunity!  Xoxoxo! A few faves…

New Branding, New Studio, New Start {Dallas Fort Worth Children’s Photographer}

I’ve been tweeting, Facebooking and blogging about the new branding and studio and finally, with so much excitement I might just explode, I’d love to share with you my entire new marketing package, websites and space! Most of you know that I recently made the switch from weddings to babies/children/teens.  It’s where my heart is at and I’m so excited to have finally “specialized”.  Along with that change, came a desire to re-brand and the opportunity (thank you God!) to open a studio.

First, I want to  express my sincere gratitude and admiration for Jane Johnson of Custom Photography Blogs.  Jane and I met a year ago when she led the Be Thou My Vision Christian women’s photography retreat in Oregon, and we’ve since become great friends.  I knew when I was ready to change my “identity” that Jane was the one I wanted to work with.  Her style, personality and love for the Lord made the whole process that much sweeter.  Having been in marketing/advertising for several years before venturing out to start my photography business, I’ve learned the importance of having a cohesive online presence and marketing materials.  But mostly, they should reflect your style and your personality as a photographer.  I think Jane nailed it.

Let me take you through the process…

The “inspiration” I provided her with (I’m an Anthropologie fanatic and love all things vintage!):

The elegant/whimsical logo she created:

The marketing materials included a full welcome packet (including complete pricing information, a trifold brochure, and custom designed portrait contract), stationery package (including business card and letterhead), custom sales receipt template, twitter page design, splash page design and two customized BigFolio templates for separate children and senior sites. Can I just say….SWOON?!

Thanks to Big Folio for my amazing sites and working with Jane on the customization!

Ok, just one more quick and fun new thing before the studio pics…

I’ve used Design Aglow ever since I discovered them two years ago when starting my business.  They have the most unique products for photographers and I so recommend them for your product/marketing needs!  I also enjoy the digital publications they publish – so much inspiration to consume!! Needless to say, I was GIDDY when they recently selected images from my Mattie and David Austin wedding as well as the recent toddler shoot of Abby to showcase on their new Visual Poetry accordion albums.  So exciting!!!  I can’t wait to make my first one!! Thanks again Design Aglow!

And now, a few images of the new studio space which I think is a great extension of the branding!  I will still primarily shoot on location but this will be a great alternative and a place to display work, meet with clients and review images/products with them.  I never thought I’d have a space this quickly, and God has been so good!  Here are a few from the main studio space.  More to come of the office area/client previewing room.  Enjoy!

Sneak Peek – Gigi {Dallas Fort Worth Newborn Photographer}

I am headed to Belize tomorrow for our annual mission trip with the LEAP Foundation and wanted to hurry and post some sneak peeks from this week.   I’ve been so blessed to shoot two brand new beautiful baby girls this week.  Gigi is one of them and was born on her mother’s birthday! What a perfect gift from above!   I photographed Leigh and Kelly’s wedding last year (which was published on Southern Wedding Magazine’s blog) and I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be invited back to photograph their new addition.  What an honor!  Thank you Leigh and Kelly!  Thanks also for treating me to lunch – I so enjoyed our time together and can’t wait to blog the whole session.

May I present….

The gorgeous Gigi!

A longer blog post to come, including Gigi’s beautiful antique/vintage inspired room plus another sweet baby girl to follow!

A Fashion Shoot, Part 1 {Dallas Fort Worth Senior Photographer}

So I’m way overdue posting this shoot.  And even now I’m only posting part one of three.  Why? Well first of all, I need to tend to clients first and this was a “fun” shoot and secondly,  because there were so many fabulous shots, gorgeous models and fun clothing that I need to divide it up.  Thanks for your patience sweet models! :) My good friend Beth of B. Mo. Foto Photography came to visit a couple months ago (she was shooting a wedding here Dallas and stayed with us for a week – oh the fun that we had!)  Being the romantics and fashionistas we are, we cooked up a fun fashion shoot using our sweet photog friend Elisabeth Carol and her adorable friends as models.  We originally had grand ideas of fields, forests, chandeliers, etc…… but never made it past my front yard.  And that’s ok.  I’m so excited about the photos and enjoyed collaborating with Beth, who is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but a sister in Christ I’ve been blessed to get to know. And our models?  So precious.  Thanks girls for trekking over with all your gear and making it a fabulous time!

One thing I learned at WPPI and truly want to put more into practice is to shoot more for myself by creating personal projects that will continue to inspire me and allow me to explore new ideas and opportunities. I encourage all photographers to do this.

Part one was all about neutrals, romantic hair and jewelry and these girls couldn’t look any more beautiful.
